Zhaelor, The Iron Gauntlet

Axis of Power

Zhaelor

The Iron Gauntlet, The Stern Arbiter, The Hand of Retribution

Enforcement Punishment Retribution The Weight of Law
“A law without enforcement is merely a suggestion.”

Overview

Zhaelor is the divine embodiment of the "teeth" of the law. While Vaelor decrees the mandate and Korthyne ensures the heart’s agreement, Zhaelor is the force that acts when the law is broken.

He represents the necessity of consequence, the cold reality of the prison cell, and the swift strike of the executioner’s blade.

He is not a god of cruelty, but of absolute, unyielding accountability.

To Zhaelor, a law without enforcement is merely a suggestion, and a crime without punishment is an invitation to chaos.

Personality & Philosophy

Zhaelor values accountability, persistence, the letter of the law, and the restoration of order through penalty. He is the "Inescapable One," whose duty is absolute and whose pursuit is eternal.

Stoic, humorless, and tireless, he does not feel anger toward the criminal, only the weight of the duty to see the sentence carried out. He is the cold machinery of justice made divine.

  • The Letter of the Law
  • Restoration of Order Through Penalty

Role Within the Veil Compact

During the forging of the Veil, Zhaelor demanded the creation of the "Outer Void," a place where those who violated the divine laws could be contained.

He acted as the cosmic jailer for the entities that refused to sign the Compact, standing watch over the boundaries of reality.

In the current era, as central governments fail and chaos threatens the realm, Zhaelor’s worship has become more localized and brutal.

His followers are often the only ones providing "justice" in lawless lands, though their brand of retribution is often seen as cold and lacking in mercy.
